Incredible work and video. Thank you for sharing your process! May I ask what tool were you using on 15:14?
Very beautiful. Thanks so much for showing us your processes.
tiny bit concerned that you seem to have disappeared? hope things are okay
Hello! No need for concern, work has just been really busy and I have just moved to a new house so things have been quite chaotic. I'll have new stuff soon! Thanks for looking out for me :D
Looking forward to part 3 of this series!
Hi Grady, first of all thanks for your videos. You probably couldn't notice this comment but still I choose to share my real thoughts about this channel. Me as a rookie game artist have watched all of your videos carefully, thinking about how am I gonna sharp my skills through your vids. It's probably one of my best surprise this year to find an artist who is willing to teach things with all detailed art skills, painting process and his own thoughts about how to be a better professional concept artist. (I paid a lot to learn game art 2 years ago then I found I learned much more from you XD) Ngl I was at an emotional low point few months ago , starting to doubt my abilities of being an artist, questioning myself should I stick on the game industry or just go back to be an architect again. It's your words remind me of my passion for painting. Just keep practicing before thinking about money or finish smt really cool stuff. Once again thank you ,wish you all the best!
Thanks so much for this, it really made my day :D I am so so glad anytime I hear from passionate people like yourself who are resolved to keep pushing forward with their art :) The path is full of doubt and sometimes it can feel hopeless no matter what level you are at, but there are always breakthroughs around the corner if you keep moving forward. Thanks again, and I really wish you the best.
this looks so cool
Great artistry! Do you use a tablet and stylus or mouse for your work? if tablet/pen, can you share what you use :D
Thanks you❤
Just wandered to encounter your channel. Very inspiring! I really want to focus on studying environments while on school break so ty for these tips!
Is it weird i play your video as my snooze sounds. LOVE YOUR WORK!
I watched every single videos of yours in just a couple of days. Just wanna say a huge thanks for all the great tips and tricks that you're sharing. That's sincerely extremely helpful to watch. I can finally say that I understand some concepts that I struggled with for years. Thank you so much, you are a really good teacher (and artist in general) !
I've been through several of your videos and loved them all! I had been looking for more real-time painting videos. Timelapse is great but sometimes I want to be able to see the deliberations and experimentation as they happen. I'd say even if you don't feel up to commentary, if you recorded your work and just selected certain phases to keep in realtime, timelapsing the rest, and upload it with music it would be great IMO. The commentary is good but I know it takes a certain energy and thoughtfulness you might not always have while deep in work.
I’m just starting out and just wanted to say how much I appreciate your videos. The video composition, guidance, and music choices are so dope. Thanks man.
Third time, and I will rewatch until the magic dissipates! Amazing work, I can feel this piece of art! Thank you for your art, Grady! Beyond inspiration!
Loved this study, bought a print of it on your artstation
wow i love it
Detachment from your ego is a never-ending process
Great video mate. Cool painting too always enjoy your content.
What type of iPad are you using? And are you using an apple pencil? I've been looking into getting a newer iPad that is actually compatible with the pencil. I love your content and your art, you've inspired me to work more on buildings/landscapes- thank you.
Great art and life advice too. Great vid, keep it up
The brushes make the painting look amazing, I wish I knew what kind of brushes you use
So happy I found this! I’ve always struggled with environments and I would love to be able to make them but I find it so hard to move on from the blocking phase. Always kind of got stuck once I hit that muddy phase that you said “looks really bad but you need to just keep going and give it time”. This really helps!
this was awesome, thank you! inspiring
If there's anything I've learned in all my years of art studies and tutorial watching it's that there is no "right way" to go about your art.
Just found your channel and I fell in love with it instantly! Your vibe, your art (absolutely stunning art) the music, everything! You are amazing!
I gotta say, your work is SO good. Also, your videos are well above and beyond anything else anyone is doing with environments on UA-cam. Yes, others are doing great tutorials, but the quality of your work is top notch. I think it's your light and atmosphere. So good 🔥
Very cool - I'm all in on this, will absolutely buy this!
Thank you so much for your content bro, for mi is very relaxing enjoy your videos in a Sunday night and listen the music in the background and watch your process, greetings from Mexico
where did you get your brushs from? also, can you show your setup for us in a future video?
where did you got your brushs? or you created them yourself?
Thank you for sharing your process. The atmosphere and colors on your finished piece are gorgeous. I definitely want to try the gradient map method on my next piece
Thank you so much!
Awesome Video/Content man! Is there a chance to see a room/setup video in the future? Your place looks great : o
DIscord Server?
stunning man... loved the vid
Thanks!
Awesome process and tutorial, I love hearing passionate people learning through teaching and just doing some art shenanigans. Keep up the great work gamer :3
What music or composer does ur sound
I have to say, I've watched a LOT of videos about environment painting. I would get inspired and go and try it myself and it would come out horrible - granted I'm mainly a character artist - but I would get discouraged. This video and the part before have both had stuff in it I've never heard before from any other painter. Perhaps it was obvious to other people but your advice about where to place your values is literally revolutionary to me. I would go into my paintings with ideas about atmospheric perspective and making sure my foreground was dark and my background light or vice versa. But your advice about placing the light thoughtfully and strategically to create interesting shapes rather than just lumping different forms together with a single value makes SO much sense. It's really the same with painting characters. I feel like you've totally rewired my brain when it comes to thinking about landscapes, and I'm hyped to try this method out in my next sesh. The stuff you're sharing is so valuable and it's awesome to watch you make art. Seriously keep up the good work!
Subscribed. Loved everything about your vid, vibe, doggo and of course the layered step by step approach to your work
Thank you very much!
thank you so much for this, your videos are really helpful and wonderfully transparent, plus your painting is beautiful and it's really nice to hear the thought process behind the decisions. please make more like this!!
I’m using Procreate and I love the Timelapse of your painting. It inspires me to paint more
just found you...awesome work and i love your way to talk...thank you for sharing
Thank you so much!
Love the channel. What music is this? I really enjoy it. Thanks
I love hearing Joe Pera teach me about digital art.
Do you happen to remember what song is at 13:50 ? I checked the description but it's not one of the ones mentioned there. Amazing work with the piece btw.
I genuinely can't get over how wonderful and melancholy this piece feels. You literally breathed life into the reference image. I love all the choices you made and all the inspiration you took from other references. The flowers ended up super dreamy.
Thanks so much for this :)
Nice study.
Thank you
This is one of those pieces of "art" that, when looked upon while being close enough, you can see how simplistic and poor-quality it actually is.
Thanks for this video. I find that separating into just two values with light and dark is difficult for me in scenes with dense foliage, like forests. Going to try to remember these tips for when I try to tackle that again
Just had one of those moments where you find two of your favourite creators collaborate! Love the mood
I just discovered your channel today and I got the tons of inspiration from you. Keep up the good work and you will be big soon brotha.
Thanks so much :D Thankyou for subscribing dude!
What iPad do you use? Been looking at Ipads and can't decide if the Air or Pro is a better option.
